Gordons Corner Fire Company Launches New Recruitment Website to Increase Base of Volunteer Firefighters
Gordons Corner Fire Company is made up entirely of courageous locals ready to answer the call and provide life-saving emergency services to those in need. The fire company is turning to the community to expand its base of dedicated volunteers via the new recruitment website, www.JoinGordonsCornerFire.org.
Gordons Corner is a 100% volunteer organization, committed to saving lives and protecting property on the north side of Manalapan, NJ, and its surrounding areas. It serves roughly 30,000 residents, averaging over 560 emergency calls, ranging from structure fires to vehicular rescues to storm-related emergencies to technical rescues. The website is one of the many outreach efforts the fire company will deploy under its Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) funded recruitment campaign, which comes at no cost to local taxpayers.
A brand development session led to the slogan, “Dedication. Honor. Service. Igniting Passion, Driven by Purpose.” The tagline, which encapsulates the essence and principles of a Gordons Corner volunteer, will be incorporated into all print and electronic recruitment materials.
The new website offers important information about the department, including ways to volunteer, benefits of volunteering, frequently asked questions, volunteer testimonials, and more. Interested individuals can complete a volunteer inquiry form on the website’s “Join Us” page. Once the form is submitted, a member of the department will reach out within 24 hours.
Recruitment efforts will include social media content, public relations in traditional media outlets, outreach at local community events and more.
“With the new recruitment website, we hope to communicate to the community the various ways in which you give back to the community as a Gordons Corner volunteer, and the countless benefits available to our members,” said Gordons Corner Chief Steven Burdick.
Gordons Corner volunteers are eligible for township volunteer incentives of up to $500, tuition credit of up to $1,250 per year, free education and training to pursue heightened levels of certification, a free health and fitness program, a complementary fitness studio and a relief program with lifelong benefits. For Gordons Corner volunteers, however, nothing compares to the sense of pride they receive through serving and protecting their community.
“I have advanced my skills with continuing education and hands-on training. It is also a tremendous feeling giving back to the community and fellow neighbors in times of need,” said Gordons Corner 1st Lieutenant, Keith Obriwin.
